RESTORING HISTORY
Villa Maggio, Frank Sinatra’s Hideaway, was built in 1967 by Frank Sinatra. This estate was hit hard by the Idyllwild Fires in Southern California with extensive smoke damage, soot and ash.
Cleaning, and soot and ash removal of this historic home was a tough job, one SERVPRO of Beaumont / Banning took on with great professionalism and knowledge of the SERVPRO way of mitigation and restoration processes.
Extensive soot, ashes and residue were on and in the whole estate which consisted of 3 houses, pool and tennis court areas. SERVPRO performed mitigation and cleaning on all contents of the Main House, Guest House and the Pool House as well as outside areas.
The Main House and the Pool House were a densely furnished home with antique collectibles. Everywhere we turned were breakable and highly valuable pieces of artwork and antiquities in need of cleaning and restoring. It was a great experience for our SERVPRO team to use their knowledge and training. Large pieces of fine art covered the mahogany and walnut paneled walls that took on soot damage as well. Most of the historic artwork had no glass in the framing and our SERVPRO experts had to take specialized efforts to detach, restore the artwork properly and reset each.
Various methods of mitigation and cleaning were used to ensure all residues had been removed. Content of the 3 houses required hours to Hepa Vac and clean numerous antique furniture items and pieces. Specialized Chem Sponges were used to remove soot on the 30 foot vaulted ceilings which were made of high quality wood. Air Scrubbers and a 3 optic Hydroxyl Generator were utilized throughout the restoration process to make sure that the Ritz family and their six dogs were able to stay home during the cleaning and restoration process.
All in all, the challenges put forth were met head on by our SERVPRO of Beaumont / Banning crew, and the owner Villa Maggio was very pleased with our commitment and service in the cleaning and restoration of this historic hidden hideaway.
