As with any water loss, water can intrude and hide in areas that are hard to find. Having the right water detection equipment can help to find water wherever it may hide. Proper drying techniques involve detecting those areas were water has intruded as well as determine to what extent those structures and contents effected have observed moisture.
We at SERVPRO of Beaumont/Banning use state of the art water detection equipment to locate water damage and to verify a damaged area has been dried thoroughly and properly.
Our Detection Equipment include;
- Moisture Sensors
Are used to detect moisture in carpets and carpet paddling.
- Moisture Meters
Are used to determine the actual moisture content of various materials. The moisture tester provides accurate moisture readings that enable our SERVPRO Technician to monitor the drying process.
- Thermo-hygrometers
Measure both temperature and relative humidity. Capturing these two readings, our SERVPRO Technician using a psychrometric chart can calculate specific humidity, dew point and vapor pressure.
- Infrared Cameras
Can identify the location and extent of moisture in walls very effectively.
- Manometers
Allow our SERVPRO Technician to measure the difference in air pressure when creating a negative air pressure environment.
