Waves of heavy rain pounded the desert pass areas of Beaumont, Banning and Desert Hot Springs, on Valentines’ Day, filling normally dry creeks and rivers with muddy torrents, flooding roadways and forcing residents to flee their homes in communities scorched by wildfires.
