Flu Virus Spreading Through Your Beaumont or Banning Office?

The flu virus can live on surfaces for up to 48 hours. How many surfaces do you touch in just a few hours?
Many germs and viruses live on us and our surroundings on a regular basis. Our repeated exposure is what helps our body become immune to them. The flu virus is a is a common virus that changes year to year and thus making it more difficult to build up a resistance. If you are a business owner this can be of a huge concern. If you have one employee become sick, many more can become infected not only hurting your employees but affecting your production.
Consider the following Virus facts:
· Viruses are present almost everywhere, indoors and outdoors.
· The name ‘virus’ means ‘poison’ and ‘venom’ in Latin
· Viruses can infect anything that is living.
· Viruses need a live host in order to reproduce.
· Washing your hands with warm, soapy water is still the best way to rid your hands from viruses and harmful bacteria. Rinsing your hands first so you can create a good lather is key to an affective hand washing. It is a good idea to wash your arms as well as they often rest on tables, armchairs and laptops, all of which can be repeatedly exposed. Rinse well and use paper towels to dry hands and arms.
What to Do:
· Use gloves and a face mask
· Turn off the HVAC system and fans.
· There are many chemical options to choose from to use on your surfaces. Read the label to make sure it will kill the viruses you are disinfecting for. You can also dilute ¼ cup of bleach to 1 one gallon of water. Wipe all surfaces, let set for 3-5 minutes then wipe with clean water.
· Start looking from ceiling to floor and wipe anything that gets touched.
· Windowsills, Door Handles, Chair rails, Handrails, Counters, Phones, Staplers, Printers, Cabinet Knobs, Sinks, Toilets, Computers, etc...
· You can spray with Lysol type products: Pens and other small objects
· What Not to Do:
· Do NOT clean in a sealed environment. Make sure there is always proper ventilation.
· Do NOT mix chemicals. Especially bleach and vinegar or ammonia.
